There are more than 51 miles of Lake Superior shoreline (recently named one of the cleanest beaches in America), over 100 waterfalls, 546 inland lakes and more than 1,200 miles of rivers and streams, and thousands of acres of state and federal land. With much of the area still forest, the observance of wildlife is superior. The area also boasts a community lighthouse and a rich mining and logging history.
